122 jobs lost following Modpods International Ltd administration

We are sorry to read reports that the Stoneleigh-based modular housebuilder, Modpods International Ltd, entered administration on Monday August 12. Paul Ellison and Christopher Errington of KRE Corporate Recovery were appointed as joint administrators. It is reported that efforts were being made to sell the business prior to the administration process, but no buyer could be found. This lead to all 122 employees being made redundant.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
