20 jobs lost as Camstead Ltd collapses into administration

We are sorry to read reports that Leeds-based residential development company, Camstead Ltd (Camstead Homes), has collapsed into administration resulting in the loss of 20 jobs.

James Clark and Howard Smith from Interpath were appointed joint administrators to Camstead Ltd, Scotfield Group Ltd and Yelcon Ltd on 19 November 2024 – together known as Camstead Homes.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
