70 jobs lost as Octagon Developments Limited collapses into administration.

Back in December 2024 we unfortunately read reports that luxury house builder, Octagon Developments Limited, collapsed into administration, with all 70 employees being made redundant. David Hudson and Phil Armstrong of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators. We are now in contact with former employees of the company who have confirmed that redundancies were made.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you were made redundant and need advice, contact Omar Ghaffoor in our employment team confidentially now for more information. You can also:

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
