ABOUT MORRISH SOLICITORS
The firm
Based in West Yorkshire, Morrish Solicitors LLP is a firm of specialist solicitors acting nationally for 20 trade unions and staff associations and prides themselves of offering the highest quality advice and service. Head of client relations, Jamie Hanley, says \”We act for a wide range of unions, from the biggest to the most specialist associations, and many in between. Each client is treated with the same dedication and drive to give the very best advice and quality representation.\”
History
First established in Leeds in 1882, the firm acted for their first trade union client, the Farriers, in 1906. That client is still with the firm to this day, as the National Association of Farriers, Blacksmiths and Agricultural Engineers. Through its history the firm has enjoyed strong ties with the local community, and continues to grow from strength to strength through commitment to quality of service and providing the best possible advice to clients. The firm has four offices in Leeds, Bradford, Pudsey and Yeadon from which their experts act nationwide representing union members.
Expertise
Practice areas include employment rights, personal injury, wills, probate, estate planning, elderly client services, matrimonial law, conveyancing, business services, dispute resolution and litigation.
In Morrish\’s commitment to providing quality advice, many of the firm\’s departments comprise solicitors only, such as the employment rights department. \”Employment law,\” says department head Paul Scholey, \”is an ever-changing and complex area of law where there is no substitute for expertise and quality of advice. Even experts must keep abreast of the latest developments if they are to give the best possible advice to clients. We took a strategic decision a long time ago to have qualified, specialist solicitors only in our employment rights department. As a result of that decision, our team today has a formidable reputation in the field. We routinely represent clients in the tribunals and appeals tribunals, and pride ourselves on winning headline awards for clients.\”
Morrish Solicitors and HCSA
Speaking earlier today, Morrish Solicitors\’ Operating Partner, Paul Scholey, said \”We at Morrish Solicitors are excited to be working with the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association. Coordinating the relationship through the Industrial Relations Officer will clearly benefit members, the Association and ourselves alike. In these tough times the unions face real challenges to look after the best interests of their members and, where legal services are concerned, much of that comes down to quality of legal advice.\”
