Nearly 100 jobs at risk as operators of The Cube Hotel in Birmingham enter administration

We are unfortunately reading reports that hotel operators, MSHA Global Investments Ltd, has appointed administrators to The Cube Hotel in Birmingham. The hotel employs nearly 100 staff who are fir now being retained by administrators at Quantuma.

However, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
