Around 100 jobs lost in ESS Modular administration

We are unfortunately reading reports that the Hull-based off-site solutions specialist, Extraspace Solutions (UK) Ltd (ESS Modular), has collapsed into administration resulting in the loss of around 100 jobs. We are now working with former employees who have confirmed the situation with us.

Tim Vance, Charles King and Andrew Dolliver of EY-Parthenon’s Turnaround & Restructuring Strategy have been appointed as joint administrators to ESS Modular and its subsidiary Spatial Initiative Limited.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make these kinds of immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
