26 jobs lost as ANK Manufacturing Ltd enters administration

We are sorry to read reports that the Long Eaton-based furniture supplier, ANK Manufacturing Ltd, has collapsed into administration, leading to the loss of 26 jobs. Carolynn Best and Thomas Harris of Begbies Traynor have were appointed to look after the day-to-day running of the company at the end of October.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
