Administrators revealed for The Iona School Association
We are sorry to be reading reports that the Nottingham-based private school, The Iona School Association, has appointed administrators. Philip Harris and Nathan Jones of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators on Monday 23 September, following submitting the court documents filing for administration earlier that day.
Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:
- 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
- There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.
