Almost 160 jobs lost as Bistrot Pierre is bought out of administration

We are reading reports that the Nottingham-headquartered restaurant chain, Bistrot Pierre, has been bought out of administration in a pre-pack deal. Whilst this deal will safeguard 394 positions, it has still led to the loss of 158 jobs.

It is unclear if there was any or an adequate consultation process prior to these job losses. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
