Around 75 jobs may be at risk as Troy (UK) Limited enters administration

We are unfortunately reading reports that the UK’s largest independent tools and maintenance network, Troy (UK) Limited, has collapsed into administration and is up for sale. Paul Berkovi and Mark Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal have been appointed as joint administrators. The company employs around 75 people.

Whilst it is reported that no immediate redundancies have been made, administrators may still make redundancies without the appropriate warning or any consultation process. If there was a failure to follow a consultation process, this could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
