Compensation for Employee Injured in Explosion at Work
Morrish Solicitors have successfully secured a six-figure sum of compensation for a Claimant who was seriously injured in an explosion at work, which left him with significant burn injuries and the loss of his job.
The Claimant whilst at work at a game farm was injured when the warehouse he was working in exploded as he lit a heat lamp.
As a result of the explosion the Claimant has suffered from both physical and psychological trauma. He sustained 17% burns to his face and arms/hands which resulted in permanent scarring to the arms and hands. The Claimant made a remarkable recovery from the facial burns due to an enzyme treatment which was used whilst he was kept in a medically induced coma.
He could, sadly, not return to his job post-accident.
Our Partner and Head of Personal Injury, Laura Nabozny pursued an accident at work claim against the employer and the case was settled after 15 months. The outcome of the claim is the Claimant received a six-figure sum for the injuries sustained, the Defendant funded physical and vocational rehabilitation for the Claimant.
