Cyber-attacks: What to watch out for
With recent publicised cyber-attacks in the media, we would like to ask clients to be vigilant and notify us if you receive any suspicious emails claiming to be from a member of our team. Things you need to keep an eye out for are:
Email addresses – Fake emails will be different to our real email addresses that you will have previously been contacted by. The difference could be subtle, so please always check the spelling and format carefully.
Style – Fake emails will often look different from the usual in-house style and will have a different email signature.
Requests for money/bank details/payments – We will never contact you by email to change our bank details. Please also check the bank details (name, sort code and account number) carefully before sending any money. If you have any doubts at all, please get in touch on 03333 44 9600 and speak to the person handling your matter to verify. We will not accept responsibility for money sent into an incorrect account.
We take our cyber security extremely seriously and ask that you contact us directly if you have any concerns at all.
