Deadline to Apply for Help to Buy
The Government’s Help to Buy Scheme which was first introduced in 2013 is scheduled to end in March 2023. Those wishing to use the scheme must apply by 31st October 2022.
Designed to help first-time buyers in England get on the property ladder, the scheme allows them to borrow up to 20% of a new build property’s price via a government loan, interest-free for the first 5 years.
Since Help to Buy was first launched more than 355,000 new build properties have been bought with the help of an equity loan.
According to the Government there are no plans to extend or replace the existing scheme when it ends next March.
