New Compensation Scheme for patients of Ian Paterson
A new compensation fund has been set up by Spire Healthcare for patients harmed by convicted surgeon Ian Paterson who have not already claimed compensation. Morrish Solicitors’ team of specialist Medical Negligence Solicitors can act for Claimants applying for compensation from the fund.

At the beginning of 2020, the Government started an Independent Inquiry into Ian Paterson and recommended that private healthcare provider, Spire Healthcare, check that all of Paterson’s patients had been recalled.
Following communication with patients in December 2020, Spire Healthcare identified additional patients who were harmed by Paterson, who was suspended by Spire in 2011.
As a result, Spire has now set up a second compensation fund to deal with any new claims arising out of treatment by Paterson at its hospitals. Morrish Solicitors are able to support patients who wish to pursue a claim from the fund.
