Career
In June 2024, I joined Morrish Solicitors LLP as a Legal Assistant within the employment team, following completion of the Law LLB degree at The University of Leeds the previous month. I graduate in July 2024. Throughout my senior school life and full-time degree studies, I took the opportunity to pursue various work experience opportunities at legal firms, whilst also being employed part-time by a leading retail store.
My current role revolves around assisting members of the employment team with various tasks including being the first responder to prospective client calls whilst preparing and handling case documentation.
I am delighted to become a member of the employment team. With this being my first legal position, I am thoroughly enjoying the beginning of my career. The support and opportunities are fantastic in a dynamic environment, and I hope to follow the career path of my colleagues.
Achievements
The achievement I am most proud of regarding my legal studies and career to date is the completion of my dissertation. This was based on the proposed inclusion of Jade’s Law in the Victims and Prisoners Bill and the consequences relating to parental responsibility: an evolving piece of legislation at the time of writing in early 2024. Whilst not an employment issue, I anticipate the constant research required for an ever-changing area of law will benefit my work within the employment team.
Interests
Outside of work and study I have always been extremely enthusiastic about football having played to a representative standard at county level as a schoolboy and I avidly follow Leeds United. Besides my passion for football, I enjoy travel, drawing, keeping fit and spending time with friends and family.
