Career
Since admission in 1989 I’ve been lucky to get involved with cases in almost every walk of life. I’ve looked after factory workers, drivers, doctors, rugby players, bankers, hoteliers, managers, teachers and fellow professionals – for a start.
I read Law at Lancaster University and began my career at a Leeds firm, doing criminal legal aid work. At Morrish I undertook a broad variety of cases until I established the firm’s first dedicated employment law team. I was senior/managing partner for 10 years and am now enjoying working with clients again in mainly advisory work.
I am an Employment Consultant at Morrish Solicitors, advising unions and individuals about workplace issues including industrial action and collective bargaining. I have a particular interest in cases relating to the use of social media.
In my last 30 years at the firm, I have covered a lot of ground in a lot of law. My main interest is working with trade unions, dealing with complex industrial issues – strike action, Certification Officer work, Rule Book and membership problems – that’s a big part of my day-to-day work. However, I still enjoy advising and representing individual members.

Interests
I’m an avid reader and a big science fiction fan. Recently I’ve been reading around philosophy and real science. I’m interested in technology and can build a PC from scratch. If I find myself somewhere hot and wet I’m a keen scuba diver.
