UK Chief Executives earn 188 times the national minimum wage
A report by the High Pay Centre shows that the FTSE 100 Chief Executives earn on average £1,260 per hour in comparison to those on the national minimum wage: £6.70 for those aged over 21 years. The average yearly earnings for these Chief Executives is £5 million, in comparison to the median pay of a normal worker at £27,645.00.
David Sorensen, partner in the employment team, says: “these figures show that the pay difference between the big bosses of the UK and ordinary workers grows ever wider. How can any boss justify a £5 million a year pay package when workers on average receive 1/180th of that?”.
